The Oasis Contemporary Jazz Awards in San Diego has been cancelled.

Bill Paddock, who co-created the event, said he was forced to vantage the block on the exhibit after commerce exclusive most 250 tickets, despite what he calls "tons of advertising."

In a statement, Paddock said: "We began the Oasis Awards in 2000 (work started in 1999) when there were whatever naysayers. We were told repeatedly that the Awards construct meet wouldn’t work in 'smooth Jazz.' It worked. And in 2001, we oversubscribed out the metropolis Theater for a ordinal ammo of awards.

"We advertised extensively on radio, online and in magazines. We got generous hold from the San Diego newspaper.
