Atheist Michael Newdow wants the U.S. polity to drop every references to God. However, his attractiveness to the United States Supreme Court has failed.

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco unloved his claim that much references, much as the domestic motto "In God We Trust", should not appear on U.S. money. Newdow argued that the inscription of the motto on money makes him an loath griever of a religious message.

When the 9th Circuit ruled that the phrase is 'ceremonial and patriotic' and has nothing to do with the organisation of religion, Newdow appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court. On Monday, the Supreme Court refused to hear the housing (Newdow v. Lefevre, 10-893). Both the Obama administration and the conservative Pacific Justice Institute had opposed the lawsuit.

"In God We Trust" was first put on U.S. coins in the 1860s and on paper nowness in the 1950s.
